Benjamin Franklin first suggested that the timber rattlesnake was an ideal symbol for “the temper and conduct of America.” His reasoning included the observation, “She never begins an attack, nor, when once engaged, ever surrenders: She is therefore an emblem of magnanimity and true courage.” That fits right in with the PrepareForWar.net design philosophy. Since the Gadsden flag rattlesnake is one of the design symbols, it seems fitting to display it on the same yellow background as the flag.
If you’re unfamiliar with the 3% symbol, the Roman numeral III refers to the percentage of American colonists who actively defended human rights and freedom from government employees during the American Revolution. The thirteen stars represent the first thirteen American colonies. This symbol was designed by Mike Vanderboegh, a Second Amendment advocate who authored the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog until God called him home to a patriot’s heavenly reward in 2016.
