Magnet: Colonial Flag background with 3% symbol

Magnets measure 11 x 3 inches. (Note that the magnets are larger than the stickers, due to different intended purposes.) They are heavy duty 30 mil car magnets with a UV laminate. These magnets look awesome affixed to a gun safe or locker but also look great on the refrigerator, and are equally suitable for use on automobiles.

The Founding Fathers shared the philosophy behind this design. The Declaration of Independence contains the phrase, “We must hold our Brittish brethren, as we hold the rest of mankind, Enemies in War, in Peace Friends.” Thomas Jefferson was almost certainly familiar with the quote by Thucydides that inspired this project, as he once stated, “I have given up newspapers, in exchange for Tacitus and Thucydides, for Newton and Euclid, and I find myself much the happier.” This particular design variation, therefore, connects the wisest ancient military philosophy with our own courageous and intellectually rich heritage, and frames it with modern symbolism. The 3% symbol highlights the Founding Father’s adamant requirement that the citizenry be armed.

If you’re unfamiliar with the 3% symbol, the Roman numeral III refers to the percentage of American colonists who actively defended human rights and freedom from government employees during the American Revolution. The thirteen stars represent the first thirteen American colonies. This symbol was designed by Mike Vanderboegh, a Second Amendment advocate who authored the Sipsey Street Irregulars blog until God called him home to a patriot’s heavenly reward in 2016.
